Breakouts for Sep 21st: The first pick, AIRT, was one of a few mid-priced stock to make a reasonable (in terms of tradable) breakout. The stock does look overvalued in the short term and this should be considered a high risk speculative play. How much of this is coming off the back of old news remains to be seen. I have set a very loose stop for the purposes of my analysis. A more prudent approach would be to set GTC buy orders a few cents over $17.50 and another set close to $15.79 with stops on a loss of $15.00. There are no fill guarantees with this strategy but it will reduce the level of risk. The second pick, FMDAY, is another speculative issue building off a base on modest volume. It shows good all around technical strength and there is a good risk:reward basis given the relatively tight stop that can be used and the room to closest resistance (should you wish to use a narrower price target). Buying into earnings is rarely a good thing, particularly in a stock as beat down as this - but recent demand would suggest otherwise. The third pick, OPTV, is working through the mid-point of its base. Technicals are favorable; notably a MACD trigger line over zero and on-balance volume move to new highs. The stock gained on news of a new license agreement. GTC orders down to $2.88 should get a fill, but this looks a reasonable entry at current prices.
