Breakouts for Sep 1st: The first pick, GENZ, featured for July 15th as a breakout play and looks to have completed a further consolidation, but this time on lighter volume. The stock was rated a sell by Marketocracy 'gurus' following an earlier analyst downgrade triggered by earnings, but this stock doesn't look done yet. On the technical front we are waiting for a confirmation signal in the MACD trigger line, as slow stochastics hold the bullish mid-line and on-balance-volume crosses above its 20-day MA. The point-n-figure chart remains neutral but has managed to exceed its initial price target of $72.00. My price target is drawn from a measured move target. The second pick, BMRN, featured as a Gold member pick for July 18th. Today's gains came off a picture perfect test of the 50-day MA in the absence of company related news. Wednesday's gains coincided with a "buy" signal in the MACD trigger line and a cross of the bullish mid-line of slow stochastics. I have kept the original price target from the Gold Member feature. The point-n-figure chart maintains the May 11th double top breakout with a price target of $16.75. The third pick, MIL, has been a steady gainer since its first feature as a Gold member pick for May 1st. The company announced on Wednesday an alliance with Gen-Probe for the development of molecular tests for the biotech and pharmaceutical industries. The news was sufficient to trigger a "Buy" in the MACD and on-balance-volume as slow stochastics regained overbought territory. A move to $64.00 will trigger a double top breakout on the point-n-figure chart which could develop into a measured move into the $80s. A solid Investors Business Daily ranking is icing on the cake.
