Breakouts for Oct 7th: The first pick, FOX, has meandered in price below all time highs of $34. The stock gained of a buyout. Technically, the stock still has some work to do, but if it can move past $34 dating back to 2000 (see point-n-figure charts on the stockchart link) it should be good for a move to $40 psychological resistance. The second pick, LRT, features in the model portfolio as based on a fundamental scan (soon to be updated - I have neglected the fundamental scan of late, stocks like PARL and TRGL have done very well). New highs in price were confirmed with new highs in the MACD and on-balance volume. There was no company specific news to account for the breakout. The third pick, RANGY, is one of the poorest performing members of the precious metal sector. Bottom fishers have taken advantage of this as underlying gold metal prices rose. The price sits on the 20-EMA weekly moving average, with the 50-week EMA average ($2.94) and/or the last reaction high ($3.33) the next logical point for resistance to appear. The MACD trigger line is on the verge of a breakout, while on-balance-volume has soared. Use GTC buy orders around $2.25 to accumulate shares.
