Breakouts for Oct 18th: The first pick, LWSN, previously featured as a breakout for September 9th and August 24th, but was stopped out on the retracement to $6.00. The stock recovered strongly at the end of September, surging on heavy volume following earnings. Monday's gains came on news of a multi-suite contract with Blue Cross. Technically, the stock breached MACD trigger line resistance and made new highs in on-balance-volume as a double top breakout was triggered in the point-n-figure chart. The latter target is $13.00 but I am looking for a test of early 2004 highs as a likely point for resistance and therefore a price target. The second pick is, TKO featured as a breakout for January 10th but spent the year converging into a broad symmetrical triangle. Monday's gains looks to have breached the triangle (not shown) and recent near term highs. The day's gains were also good enough to trigger a double top breakout on the point-n-figure chart with a price target of $8.25. Technically, the break of MACD trigger line resistance following the earlier 'buy' signal was a bonus but a break of 6-month highs has yet to occur (similar case for on-balance-volume). There was no news to account for Monday's gains. The third pick, is no pick.
