Breakouts for Nov 4th The first pick SFCC featured as a breakout on July 30th but was stopped out for a loss. The stock has since built a base-on-base formation (see weekly chart) and is working towards a break of $35.10. The stock vaulted on news of increased 2004 revenues and guidance, including guidance for 2005. Technicals are rising, but lie some distance from their own resistance levels - this looks to be a slow burner, but there is value on any pullback to $31.41 (a good place for GTC buy orders to add to a position taken from today's close). The price target is based on expected resistance, the short term target from point-n-figure charts is $39. The second pick BAMM, made a strong move over resistance on heavy volume (although it is a relatively illiquid stock). On-balance-volume has risen to new 6-month highs but the MACD trigger line remains below trendline resistance. The stock received some coverage in BusinessWeek online edition which will have helped exposure. The price target assumes a break of $10 psychological resistance and I don't expect $12.50 to be significant resistance. GTC buy orders down to $8.71 may be good for the patient amongst you. The third pick, CNTY, originally featured as a breakout on May 27th but was stopped out. Unfortunately, the stock sits just shy of its May price target. This is another illiquid stock so it may be best to take small bites over time using GTC buy orders over $7.10. The stock had reported earnings on Friday to little fanfare. Of the three stocks presented it has the strongest technical picture. The price target is based on psychological resistance.
