Breakouts for Nov 26th: The first pick, HDTV, featured as a breakout on September 24th, but had hit its stop in low volume trading. The stock subsequently rallied, breaching the prior breakout high on heavy volume. Technicals are considerably stronger than in September, MACD and on-balance-volume in particular. Recent strength in the stock was in part due to earnings. Patient buyers could look for fills above $8.15. The second pick, BIVN, is nicely set for a breakout on the weekly chart. Volume has increased steadily over the last month as prices approached 6-month resistance. Strength in price is accompanied by breaks of resistance in MACD and on-balance-volume (often a lead to price) - look for higher prices here. The price target is a mix of base projections and psychological $20 resistance. The third pick, IDSY, had featured as a breakout on June 2nd but was stopped out. The stock went on to surpass it's price target, forming a secondary breakout as of today. The current price target reflects a measured move based on a projected target drawn from the last reaction low. The stock continues to show good technical strength as marked by breakouts in MACD and on-balance-volume. The company had released earnings earlier this month.
