Breakouts for Nov 24th: The first pick, CXW, continued to build on its base in the absence of stock related news. The break to new highs in the MACD trigger line suggests a test of $40.25 at minimum. A rounding bottom in on-balance volume, and strong bullish momentum in slow stochastics favors a move above $40.25 resistance to the projected price target, and test of (major) psychological resistance at $50. The second pick, CBST, announced a 9 m share stock offering at $11.20 a share. The previous two days of trading were sufficient to negate last weeks breakdown (a bullish confirmation signal). Of the three picks presented here, this has the strongest technical picture; a MACD trigger line crossover following a successful test of support, an on-balance-volume break to new highs, and a slow stochastic above the bullish mid-line but not overbought (suggesting some room for immediate upside). It should be possible to get a fill in the low $12s. The third pick, HLEX, featured as a breakout play on June 17th, but was stopped out. The stock consolidated for 5-months before marking today's breakout on heavier volume. The stocks technicals are well positioned for further gains, especially the sharp rise in on-balance-volume, while slow stochastics have marked strong bullish momentum for the last 11-weeks. The initial target is based on a base projection to test psychological $20 resistance, but a break of this level sets a follow on target of $23.00. The volume related to a 5 million share offering at $14.60 a share.
