Breakouts for Nov 1st: The three picks for Monday are CSTR, SFNT, and PXT. Although CSTR reported declining profits, it did report a sharp increase in its revenues. This was sufficient to gap the stock over $24.29 resistance on heavy volume. This is the third time the stock has featured as a breakout. It made it's first appearance on June 3rd and again on Sep 22nd. I have kept the June 3rd price target, but a move over $34 would be very bullish. GTC orders between $24.50-$25.00 should be good for a fill on Monday. Another stock making a breakout reapparence is SFNT. The stock featured on July 30th. I have raised the price target based on point-n-figure charts which project a price target of $44.00, but I think all time high resistance of $42.50 will halt any rise beyond this level. Technicals have yet to follow price, but all are showing a rising trend with room to move to overbought levels - therefore the current break should continue for a few more days before consolidating. The third pick, PXT, is set to release its earnings on Nov 3rd. The stock is still base building as it trades below $25.71 resistance. At current prices it is an attractive buy. Decent technical strength with on-balance-volume at new highs and a MACD trigger line on the verge of doing likewise. The price target assumes a break of 52-week highs at $28.
