Breakouts for Nov 17th: The first pick, CLFC, released market friendly earnings on Saturday. The stock broke a 6-week price consolidation on heavy volume. The stock has excellent technical strength; a MACD trigger line crossover over the bullish zero line, on-balance volume at new near term highs and a slow stochastic which has remained bullish for the last 5-months. The stock has enjoyed a lengthy rally, which would favor a conservative price target of $25, but I think there will be sufficient momentum to test $30.00. The second pick, EELN, is in the process of completing a decline from $7.20 highs. Recent volume has been light when compared to today's volume spike (look to weekly chart to see how volume has dropped significantly over the last 3 months, a strong sign of seller exhaustion). The company had released its earnings earlier this month. I would use pullbacks at this point to buy or add to a position. Patient buyers may get a fill using GTC orders down to $2.31. A long term buy-and-hold candidate. Strong technicals, on-balance-volume in particular, and a MACD trigger line about to break to new highs favors continued bullish momentum. The third pick, REDF, is another company working its way through a new base. The stock benefited from bullish momentum in Asian ADRs. Technical strength is marked by a very strong on-balance volume line and a bullish crossover in the MACD trigger line. The price target is based on a test of 52-week highs.
