Breakouts for May 5th: Three current breakouts making follow through moves. The first pick, AQNT, featured as a breakout for January 10th. The current move was triggered by earnings. The technical picture remains mixed - new highs in on-balance-volume is tempered by slow stochastics below the bullish mid-line. On the plus side, the point-n-figure chart continues to work on its quadruple top breakout from March 7th with a price target of $24.50. A move over $14.00 will create a new all time high. The second pick, BGC, featured as a breakout for July 22nd. The stock has largely moved sideways until today's earnings reaction. I have raised the stop and target price from earlier targets. The technical picture is slowly improving, but no new near term highs yet. Wednesday marked a double top breakout on the point-n-figure chart with a target of $21.00. The third pick, PSTI, featured as a breakout for March 4th. The stock was upgraded today following earnings. The technical picture is again led by on-balance-volume, although slow stochastics are again overbought implying strong bullish momentum which should support further price gains. Watch the MACD trigger line for new near term highs tomorrow making for a very strong technical picture. The point-n-figure target is $22.50 but I am using a projected base target.
