Breakouts for May 1st: The first pick, USB, is a current Subscriber play from March 16th. Fridays' break of $30.95 resistance (now support) ended a 2-month consolidation. A large bearish divergence in the MACD remains in effect and gains from the new MACD 'buy' trigger need to be watched for resistance at this line. On-balance-volume has yet to confirm the break in price. Thursday's intraday push to $31 triggered an ascending triple top breakout with an upside target of $48.50. Watch the 50-day MA for future support. The second pick, RSYS, reported higher revenue but a lower net income than for the same quarter the previous year. Buyers didn't seem to care as $20.65 resistance was handily beaten. The move in price was supported by a MACD trigger "buy" and new near term highs in on-balance-volume. Slow stochastics have room to maneuver up to overbought levels. Price is riding the 40-week average and this looks to be a good place for a trailing stop. A March 17th triple top breakout on the point-n-figure holds to a target of $27.50. The third pick, AVP, was up on earnings on huge volume. The push ended 4-weeks of quiet trading. A breakout in on-balance-volume and a MACD trigger "buy" provided additional technical support to the price gain. A thick band of resistance lurks at $45 and this will likely stall any further advance. The point-n-figure target of $50 is attributed to the double top breakout from December 13th. A 2% dividend yield is a minor bonus.
