Breakouts for June 30th: The first pick, MLNM, was a gold member pick from June 9th. The large gap to $9 was strong support on the retest which led to Wednesday's breakout. There is plenty of room for this to run to the next point of resistance ($14.00) providing reasonable risk:reward. Wednesday's gains came on the appointment of a new CEO. The point-n-figure chart still holds a downward price target of $7.50 and it will take a move to $14.00 to negate this target. The second pick, TRY, was a breakout for January 20th. The stock subsequently consolidated for 5-months before Wednesday's test of resistance. The company announced pricing of Deerfield Triarc Captial Corp IPO - a REIT - at $16.00 a share. As with price, the technicals remain below resistance but these should be watched for bullish leads (i.e. breakouts). The ideal pivot (buy) price is $16.23. A move to $16.50 will trigger a double top breakout on the point-n-figure chart. One for the watch list. The third pick, MIL, gained on an upgrade from Thomas Weisel. It was featured as a gold member play on May 2nd. The stock continues to ride an ascending triple top breakout from May 12th with an upside target of $65.00. MIL has the strongest technical picture of the three breakout plays presented; firmly overbought slow stochastics, a breakout in on-balance-volume, and a 'buy' signal in the MACD trigger line. Ride the trend but move your stops to each reaction low as the stocks advance. Solid Investors Business Daily ranking is a bonus.
