Breakouts for June 13th: The first pick, ALVR, managed to break past psychological $10 resistance on heavy volume. This is a relatively PR light company, the last news from the company was an annoucement of WiMAX for North America on June 8th. The stock is showing excellent technical strength lead by a large bullish divergence in the MACD trigger line, overbought slow stochastics, and new near term highs in on-balance-volume. Chief concern is current price sits inside the no-mans land between the 50- and 200-day moving average. GTC buy orders down to $10.15 may get fills on Monday. The second pick, LOJN, was previous breakout winner for September 1st. The stock completed its current base breaking $15.50 resistance on strong volume. The break came in the absence of stock related news. However, it did trigger a bullish catapult breakout on the point-n-figure chart although no new price target was given. I have based my price target on a test of $20 psychological resistance. In the technicals, watch for a break of the consolidation triangle in the MACD trigger line. The third pick, NUVA, is set to present at a conference in San Francisco on Monday. The break of the small handle was accompanied with new near term highs in on-balance-volume, overbought slow stochastics, and an improving MACD trigger line. The upside move dates back to an ascending triple top breakout from May 19th on the point-n-figure chart. The point-n-figure price target of $24.50 is where I based my target from. The highest ranked by Investors Business Daily - surprising given its sequence of (improving) losses.
