Breakouts for July 7th: SLPH has rallied off lows of $0.58 made in May. Upside volume has been very strong, and current momemtum favors higher prices, although it should not preclude sideways action in lieu of a weak market. A tighter stop could be placed on loss of todays lows if buying the close tomorrow, or set GTC orders to buy shares on a test of $3.10 support. The current buy of $3.87 should only be used for a partial position as it is likely to drop below this price over the coming days. There was no stock related news to account for todays surge. VEXP had suffered 4 months of declines, but has benefitted from a month of solid accumulation on improving technicals. Two key resistance levels remain above, although a break of $1.10 could send this on a run to the high $2s - but take it one step at a time. A tighter stop could be placed on a loss of $0.60, although an intraday dip is likely to occur over the coming days (good for GTC buy orders?). Is the current move a follow on from the opening of new facilities in early June? Or the result of its recent safety award? WLDA has rallied sharply on huge volume over the last two weeks on no apparent news, although a new vice president was announced today. The stock sits just shy of resistance at $5.10 and looks primed for a move to $8.00. Again, likely to pullback to $4-4.10 which would be a more suitable entry price for the patient. A more conservative play is to wait for the move beyond $5.00.
