Breakouts for Jan 31st : The first pick, WW, is a Subscriber feature from December 8th. The stock has shaped a small handle which looks primed to break over the next few days. Strong accumulation as marked by on-balance-volume in conjunction with overbought slow stochastics favors an upside breakout. The point-n-figure chart shows a triple top breakout from January 9th which is just over a $1 short of its target of $31.50. I am looking at a measured move forward. Earnings are set for Feb. 9th. The second pick, ATAC, has emerged from a 2-month consolidation on light volume, with a MACD trigger 'buy', a pending breakout in on-balance-volume, and a return to overbought slow stochastics. There has been no news from the company to account for recent bullish action with earnings set for February 15th. The point-n-figure chart holds a price objective of $24 - but a gain to $22 will be enough to trigger a double top breakout and measured target price of $26. A relatively steady preformer although weekly buying volume has dipped from the advance off $14. The third pick, TRMS, is a Subscriber pick from January 3rd. The stock is well positioned to form the right-hand-side of a new base following Monday's confirmation of a triple bottom (in price), supported by bullish divergences in all three technical indicators. Monday's price action also completed a close above the 50-d and 200-d MAs. The point-n-figure chart remains in consolidation but holds a price target of $25; I am aiming for a test of resistance before I get too excited about a move to $25. A retest of $12.25 support may be enough for fills here. The big caveat is earnings at 4:15 pm ET on Tuesday (today).
