Breakouts for Jan 24th: The first pick, AIZ, announced a secondary offering of 27.2 million shares at $30.60 a share and is set to announce Q4 earnings on February 15th. The MACD trigger signaled a 'buy' above the bullish zero line as slow stochastics ticked up after bouncing from the bullish mid-line. I have set an upside price target based on a projected move from the lows of $24.92. There is no overhead resistance and the stock carries reasonable Investor Business Daily ratings. The second pick, FO, benefited from gains in demand for a wide variety of company products, boosting Q4 profit. The current move still looks to have some legs to run as slow stochastics are rising from below the bearish mid-line, as the MACD trigger line ticks upwards, and on-balance-volume sits below resistance on the verge of a breakout. The weekly chart looks to be breaking from a cup-and-handle pattern dating back to March of this year with an upside point-n-figure target of $88.00. The third pick, TTN, followed Thursday's strong accumulation with a second day of buying, closing the week at new 52-week highs. The gains followed a settlement in criminal bribery charges. As with FO there is still some room in the technicals to rise before consolidation begins. The MACD trigger line signalled a 'buy' and ended the week above the bullish zero line. On-balance-volume closed at new highs while on-balance-volume closed above the bullish zero line and should reach overbought levels before prices retreat.
