Breakouts for Feb 8th: The first pick, PTEC, continues to ride last weeks agreement with AVERATEC. The price move is supported by a breakout in on-balance-volume and a MACD trigger line above the bullish zero line. The three month consolidation between $6.85 and $8.48 was on low volume, marking seller's exhaustion. The point-n-figure chart has an upside target of $18.50. A move to $9.00 sets up a triple top breakout on the point-n-figure chart, and a move to $10.00 is a new 2 year high. The second pick, PUMP, earnings are due on Feb 16th, and featured on Yahoo! In Play as late afternoon trading pushed it to new highs on strong volume. The MACD trigger line has yet to signal a 'buy', but it ticked up and is above the bullish zero line. A move to $22 brings new all-time highs for this 2004 IPO. The point-n-figure chart shows an ascending triple top breakout, with no upside target. However, a short term target based on a projected base move is $24 with an intermediate target of $26.50 for the larger consolidation. The third pick, CRME, announced on Friday additional clinical results on their atrial arrhythmia clinical study. Early December trading of highs $8.75 may be a tick error (although it shows on Yahoo too) - the light volume on the day reduces the relevance of this big swing. The MACD trigger line signaled a 'buy' as price broke $8.00 resistance. A move to $9.00 sets up a double top breakout on the point-n-figure chart with a current price target of $18.75. Slow stochastics at overbought levels marks strong bullish momentum. Prior low volume trading between $7 and $8 equates to sellers exhaustion.
