Breakouts for Feb 15th: The first pick, ISLE, is a current gold member play from Jan 12th. Gold members should note the raised stop and target price. The company reported earnings which beat expectations. The technical picture is supported by breakouts in the MACD trigger line and on-balance-volume which preceded the move in price. A short term projected base target is $37.00, but the point-n-figure target is $52.50. Investors Business Daily rankings were unchanged from Jan 12th. The second pick, CPHD, received some favorable coverage from Forbes which sparked a spate of late afternoon buying. The stock still is working through the right-hand-side of a new base (see weekly chart) - the real move will come on a break of $13.00. The point-n-figure charts shows an ascending triple top breakout as of Monday with an upside target of $22.00. The bullish picture is supported by a breakout in on-balance-volume, but the MACD trigger line remains trapped below resistance. The third pick, EXAS, looks to have completed a V-reversal bottom with handle following a close over $4.00. The company last released PR on Thursday which suggests something new in the pipeline to be announced. The stock finished today at the 200-day moving average, so some weaknses can be expected as today's gains are digested. GTC buy orders down to $4.21 may catch some shares for the patient. The technical picture is supported by breakouts in the MACD trigger line and on-balance-volume. Slow stochastics at overbought levels signal strong bullish momentum. Monday marked a triple top breakout on the point-n-figure chart with an upside target of $7.00.
