Breakouts for Dec 21st: Two speculative plays and one relatively low risk play. There isn't much out there worth buying at the moment. The first pick, WGAT, followed through on some late November buying, moving past $3.07 resistance on higher volume. I would not be surprised to see a retest of $3.07 support, so GTC orders down to $3.11 is probably the best bet here if looking to buy. In its favor is some reasonable technical strength, led by MACD and on-balance-volume. Slow stochastics just entered overbought levels, so this breakout move should still have some upside to run before entering a more protracted consolidation. The second pick, EWH, enjoyed some very heavy buying today. The Hong Kong iShares provide an interesting diversification opportunity. Technicals are good; the only potential negative is a double top in the MACD trigger line, but given the uptick in the MACD histogram I don't expect this to be a problem. A good long term hold here. The third pick, BIPH, made a late day surge to pop up on my scan. I would remain skeptical on today's gains holding tomorrow, so GTC buy orders down to $1.28 look the best bet here. What is in its favor is some very nice technical strength and accumulation as marked by the buying spikes.
