Breakouts for Dec 1st: The first pick, CLHB, pushed past resistance on heavier volume after 3 weeks of consolidation following earnings. The stock has excellent technical strength; slow stochastics are not yet overbought - favoring a continuation of the current move, the MACD trigger line crossed well above the bullish zero line, and on-balance volume ended the day at new highs. Longer term resistance sits at $17.50 (see point-n-figure charts), so I have set a price target just below this level. The second pick, VISG, is a personal bane of mine - but now looks to be making the move I was looking for earlier this year. The company was awarded a contract for its ID software in Pakistan. Technicals are bullish; on-balance volume has made a new near term high, the MACD trigger line is on a "buy" signal, and slow stochastics are rising above the bullish mid-line. I have set a conservative price target - should this make further gains on volume similar to today I would then look for a test of the 52-week high (and beyond). The third pick, MANU, announced a new Chairman of Technology, which was sufficient to allow a close at a new near term high. The stock is working through a 5-month base after a slow death from $9 earlier this year ($22 in 2002). The stock is showing a very strong MACD line, with on-balance volume working towards resistance and a slow stochastic line making a rare venture above the bullish mid-line. A difficult stock to pinpoint a price target, but I expect this will slowly work its way back to $9 - it just might take a long time to do so.
