Breakouts for Aug 3rd: The three stocks featured all hold the highest rating from Investors Business Daily. AMHC broke a month long consolidation on higher volume, but price remained below $30.20 resistance. The stock rallied in the abensce of stock related news. GTC buy orders around $27.60 are likely to be filled on a pullback, but a small position at current prices is warranted. CCJ broke to new 52-week highs following a short consolidation. This form of pullback is most vulnerable to reversal, so a more prudent stop would be placed on a loss of closest support, ie. $60.80 The stock released earnings last Friday, which has provided the impetus for the current move. The stock has broken a much longer base dating back to Dec 2003, providing the basis for the high price target. DECK is best positioned as a buy at current prices for it closed just above resistance. There is a bearish divergence in the MACD trigger line that relates to April highs. The move can be considered a cup-and-handle breakout. There was no news to account for todays move.
