Breakouts for Apr 25th: The first pick, ACL, gapped up as it reported a rise in Q1 profits. Potential buyers should watch for a retest of $91.48 support, a good place for some GTC buy orders. Friday's action triggered a triple top breakout with an upside target of $112. New highs in on-balance-volume have yet to be supported by a break of MACD trigger line resistance as slow stochastics remain below overbought levels. Given some of the weakness in the technical parameters it may be best to wait for the pullback before buying (thereby reducing your buy-in risk). The second pick, AYZ, are ALLTEL (NYSE: AT) notes. Friday saw a volume follow through of Thursday's breach of resistance. Supporting the break of resistance were are near term highs in the MACD trigger line, on-balance-volume, and slow stochastics. Point-n-figure chart shows no current price pattern but an upside target of $68.00. The third pick, HTCH, gapped up on strong Q2 results. The stock just closed a scratch over resistance so any dip below $36.69 could see a swift move back to test the breakout gap at $33.00. Friday marked a potent quadruple top breakout on the point-n-figure target with a price target of $50.00. A mixed technical picture. New highs in on-balance-volume are tempered by a volatile MACD trigger line and a slow stochastic which just regained the bullish mid-line. One for the watch lists.
